Tom first joined Rotary in 1970 as a member of the Rensselaer, Indiana Rotary Club. He served on the board of directors of that club as well as moving though the chairs as an officer, serving as President in the 1980-81 Rotary year. In 1990, after moving to Indianapolis he joined the Rotary Club of Indianapolis. As a member of the Indianapolis club he has served on many club committees as well as on the board of directors and has also moved through the officer chairs. He served as Presi-dent in 2000-01. He has served as an assis-tant district governor for three years. In 2002 he was selected as team leader for a Group Study Exchange team to district 9210, visiting Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. Since his return he has supported Rotary projects in that part of the world including help with famine relief in Zimbabwe.

Tom is a 1962 graduate of Earlham Col-lege and a 1965 graduate of the Indiana Uni-versity School of Law in Bloomington. From 1965 until 1986 Tom was in private practice in Jasper County, Indiana and also served as Jasper County prosecuting attorney. He was a lecturer in Business Law at St. Joseph’s Col-lege during that time. Since 1986 he has served as judge of the Indiana Tax Court. Tom is a member of a variety of professional and civic organizations, including the National Conference of State Tax Judges and Conner Prairie Foundation Indiana Supreme Court Commission on Race & Gender Fairness. He has served on Judicial Advisory Board, Law and Organizational Economics Institute, Uni-versity of Kansas, 1997-1999; Columbia Club, Board of Directors, President, 1997; and Earl-ham College Board of Trustees, 1995-2004.

He is married to Indianapolis Northeast Rotary club member, Barbara Fisher. He and Barbara have 2 children and 7 grandchildren. Tom and Barbara are both Paul Harris Fel-lows.
